In my //copious// (read: nonexistent) spare time, I work on a little Castleroid-style sidescrolling, platforming, action/adventure game, heavily inspired by the later Castlevania games. Be warned, that is not only a very early version (using an engine I scrapped and decided to re-write from scratch), but it is also full of nothing but placeholders. You have been warned. On the other hand, some people say it's pretty neat. I'll let you judge for yourself.

This ~Blog-Like Entity Brought To You By The Letter "M"

Ah, the [[Testing Pages of Doom|http://deviance.duckish.net/stuff/]]... one of my sillier projects, and also born of sheer boredom, but nonetheless somehow too popular (with my friends) for me to stop doing them. The Testing Pages of Doom are nothing more than forum avatars with text next to them... except instead of being a part of an actual forum, it's more like a webcomic, but without requiring me to actually draw anything (which is a good thing, if you've ever seen me try to draw). The original Testing Page of Doom was written while I was bored in high school. The rest gradually just... came about. The twelfth entry was written just this morning, actually, and makes the [[8th InstantKingdom forum Werewolf game|http://www.instantkingdom.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3850]] canon (which makes sense, because it was set in the TPoD universe).

The main aspect of the ~TPoDs is that of random, wacky humour; any semblance of a plot //will// get put on hold if I think of a joke. Period. This isn't as apparent in ~TPoD12, but after //every participant in ~WW8 died except for Murska//, I figured there needed to be a //slightly// more somber tone. I still tried to throw in jokes, however, and by the end, everything should be quite humourous again.

I'm amazed you're asking this question! In fact, you're probably only asking this question because you saw this page, especially since "The Errant Voyager" is solely the working title for a novel I'm writing that //has no actual title// and that nobody has ever heard of. Except my family, and a few of my friends... but whatever.

Anyway, I've been slowly-but-surely making progress on a novel (well, series of novels, actually) set six hundred years in the future (give or take a century), focusing on the conflict between the Volitanian Empire (made up of the descendants of people who fled Earth for deep space in the 2050s) and the Earth Empire (made up of the descendants of those they fled). The series is meant to span a couple decades of Volitanian history (possibly with some prequel stuff taking place in the 2050s and 2300s), finally culminating in the end of the Earth Empire as a threat... but I'm hardly going to spoil how when no book in the series has been finished yet, am I?

Anyway, a few rough drafts of chapters of one of the books in the series (currently under the working title of "The Price of Freedom", which I vowed to change the instant I realized I had subconsciously plagiarized from [[Wing Commander|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Commander_IV:_The_Price_of_Freedom]]) is actually on [[Novelas, the fiction wiki|http://fiction.wikia.com/The_Price_of_Freedom]], but that's all outdated. Still, it //is// the only way you could possibly have heard of "The Errant Voyager"... even though that name is mentioned nowhere there.

Also, yes, that [[character list|http://fiction.wikia.com/wiki/The_Price_of_Freedom/Characters#Admiral_Christopher_Redfield]] //does// include someone named [[Christopher Redfield|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Redfield]]. I re-named him Christopher Delmar in my notes. I swear, my subconscious loves fucking with me like that.

I'm old enough to drink, but have no interest in doing so. Ditto for smoking and drugs; as someone who payed attention in science class, I know far too much about the kind of affect they can have on the brain, and I want no part of it. I //do// support the legalization of marijuana, but you won't find //me// smoking the stuff... that would cut into the moneys I need to support my far more financially-crippling video game addiction. Have you //seen// what top-of-the-line video cards cost?! I can't afford a GTX 580 //and// every month's new releases! Also, my power supply could really use a couple hundred more watts... and a new case would definitely be nice. So I'm saving up money, when I'm not selling my soul to Steam and [[GOG|http://www.gog.com]] (also, I've been thinking seriously about getting a gaming laptop... but $5000 seems a bit excessive (it would be the coolest laptop ever, though!)).
